Pain Managment

Drug-Free Pain Reduction and Pain Management with Breath Control

Breath Control Therapy will help you to become more active and productive sooner, taking control of your pain rather than letting it control you. Millions of people suffer from chronic pain, and it is a poorly understood diagnosis that can be life changing, all encompassing and debilitating.  Whatever the cause of these pains, a common denominator is that they drain energy and happiness from everyday life.

We pride ourselves in the ability to help restore happiness and increase the quality of life of our patients by providing effective non-pharmacological support for pain reduction and pain management.

The issue of opioid and drug addiction in Canada has reached epidemic proportions. The number of fatal overdoses has skyrocketed over the past several years, in what many are calling a national health emergency.

Roughly 21 to 29 percent of patients prescribed opioids for chronic pain misuse them.

Between 8 and 12 percent develop an opioid use disorder.

An estimated 4 to 6 percent who misuse prescription opioids transition to heroin.

About 80 percent of people who use heroin first misused prescription opioids.

We are committed to working at your own pace and ensure a safe and comfortable environment to see you succeed on your path to improved quality and enjoyment of life.

There are many correlations now being made between maladaptive biological memories and changes in tissue and nervous systems, as well as chronic conditions like fibromyalgia, PTSD and joint and nerve pain, the connection between breathing exercises and techniques with the body’s healing mechanisms are becoming more widely accepted.

Medical doctors, psychiatrists, neuroscientists, sports therapists and health professionals everywhere are now discovering the immeasurable healing effects that controlled functional breathing patterns can have on clinical and ongoing chronic pain.

Breath Control Therapy is highly safe and easy to perform once learned. The fact that patients with acute or chronic pain are able to take an initiative and actively do something to relieve their pain has several secondary beneficial effects.

Controlled functional breathing patterns can increase the productions of endorphins, which help block nerve cells from releasing pain signals to the brain and provide relief when experiencing acute or chronic pain.

Our clients are given the ability to take the situation in to their own hands removing the negative connotations of feeling like a victim, are more in control of a frustrating situation, thus regain energy, vigor and a positive outlook.

We will collaborate to develop your own personal relaxation and imagery program that will work for you and your unique injury and perception of pain.

Breath Control Therapy for pain management can be delivered through secure telehealth sessions or we can accommodate by visiting you at the bedside for on-site and in-person therapy.

Through soothing breathing exercises I am able to feel pain relief from my chronic lower back pain and neck pain that were caused from an accident in the workplace months ago, with less prescription medication.
